Responsible investing is a no-brainer for private equity funds because they are long-term investment vehicles. Many “green” policies and methods reap rewards long before the end of a fund’s lifetime or before a fund sells a company to a new owner, so it makes good business and ethical sense to introduce sustainable environmental, social and governance (ESG) procedures
Every 12 months the EVCA produces a Yearbook, detailing all of the previous year’s private equity and venture capital activity across Europe. Ever since the EVCA was founded, 30 years ago this year, one of the association’s core goals has been to get the most robust and accurate data possible about the industry.

The EVCA Academy has been on the frontline of some of the biggest changes in European private equity, delivering indispensable training and professional development to practitioners, investors and regulators, since its foundation in 1987.
We caught up with Tim Creed, Managing Director at Adveq, to discuss environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, sustainability and private equity. He explained why he thinks private equity is one of the most responsible kinds of investment in our latest video interview, filmed at the EVCA Responsible Investment Summit.
We’re looking for EVCA members to share their success stories with us. We want to add more company case studies to our new interactive map so we can show how private equity grows businesses in Europe.
A member of the European Parliament’s influential Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee praised the EVCA Handbook of Professional Standards during a video interview. Dr Wolf Klinz, a German Liberal MEP, also said that private equity is a “growth generator” that can help Europe’s recovery from the financial crisis.

The European Commission has launched a Green Paper on long-term investing, beginning a debate about the best ways to encourage more long-term investment in Europe.
